Since 2006 Winchester City Fairtrade Network has been working hard to meet the criteria necessary for Fair-trade City status and now due to their constant campaigning and inspiring public support Winchester has finally been awarded Fairtrade City Status by the Fairtrade Foundation!
The news came on Friday 14th March 2008 just days after the Network’s highly successful participation in Fairtrade Fortnight which featured a variety of different fairtrade events designed to raise public awareness of the movement both locally and globally.
